5 THINGS TO SPICE UP A CREATIVE CHEF SCRAPBOOK

5 THINGS TO SPICE UP A CREATIVE CHEF SCRAPBOOK

If you are an iron chef in secret or a Picasso in the kitchen, don’t let your talent go to waste. Rather than keeping a simple recipe book, consider making your own creative cooking scrapbook. To help you along with your project, we have listed five simple elements to spice up your pages. Share your wonderful creations with the world!

#1 Glue dry ingredients to your pages
While ocean and beach lovers might stick seashells to the pages of their scrapbook, you can do the same with dry ingredients. Carbohydrates work particularly well in this case, for instance grains of rice, wheat and macaroni. You can even make a simple collage out of different shaped and colored pasta!

#2 Sprinkle the spices
Have you ever seen sand art? Instead of using sand, substitute with spices to paint your pages. Simply apply a thin layer of glue and sprinkle on a spice of your choice. When dried, shake off the excess. The fun thing about using spices is that they come in an array of colors, allowing you to create vibrant images and patterns.

#3 Fit for foodie pictures

A cooking theme scrapbook is not completed without professional images of your food. While there are many ways to take good food photography, we find that shooting your creations from the top down view works best. However, no matter what angle you decide to take your pictures from, maintaining a consistent perspective will make your scrapbook look cohesive.

#4 Cutlery and tools
Do you have a love for fine forks and vintage spoons? If you have a collector’s item that you will not normally use, make a slot for it in your scrapbook. Not only will it make a beautiful decor, it will also be stored in safety. If your favorite pretty cutlery is something that is often put to good use, consider doing a wax rubbing of it with tracing paper.

#5 Secret Recipes
Finally, no cookbook is complete without a good stash of secret recipes. This is also a good place for you to log what creation worked and what foodie experiment did not fare as well. Whether or not it is something you want to share and expose your hidden secrets to public that will be your choice.
